Hello! I'm hoping to major in Art and Psychology and possibly go into art therapy some day. I got accepted to Purchase, as well as two Private schools. I'm having the hardest time deciding!Obviously Purchase is wayyy cheaper and I've heard about how nice everyone is:) but is there anything else about Purchase that would make it a better choice? I mostly love it because of how close it is to the city. Is it easy to get internships and jobs in the city? and do you get a good job when you graduate?

Congratulations on being accepted! Purchase is a great choice if you’re looking for a cheap school near the city, but also because of the internships opportunities in the city as well as the surround area of Westchester. Purchase is all about hands-on experience, in whatever program you are in. This makes it so our graduates are more marketable for jobs and grad schools compared to students at other schools who never got the chance to perform a study or interact with children, etc. And I think Art and Psychology is a beautiful combination that will go together easier than you might think! Good luck with your choice and I hope you have a great college experience with whatever school you choose! :)

What is it: Considered the longest-running event on campus, this annual gender-bending extravanganza takes place in the college’s 1000-capacity Student Center, whose walls are adorned with trippy, robot-inspired murals. Last year’s lineup of over 20 performers included SUNY Purchase alums Mizz Jade and Thorgy Thor, as well as FiFi DuBois and Tresemme Dahling, both of whom are currently enrolled at the college.
